I know its hard to answer because only God knows but..
Can people give me their opinions on this?
Because as a catholic I totally don't believe this what to ever. I mean maybe I see God in a different light to most people I mean why would God send a nice person someone whos lived n ordinary life who hasn't grown up in a religion background or chose not to into a burning hot river when they really deserve heaven like us who believe. But then I get onto another point I think if your a nasty christian or whatever I think you deserve to go to hell more then a athiest would if they was nice.
Opinions?

It does not matter what you think. When you are initially saved, you are saved from UNBELIEF. If an a-t-h-e-i-s-t (you misspelled it) does not repent, and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they WILL burn. They will bust hell wide open. Reason being that the gospel is preached in every corner of this world, and it will be impossible to tell God that you never knew, or heard about Jesus.

The fact that you do not believe this does not surprise me, either. You are a catholic, like my father, and his whole family. You better get saved, and make Jesus your PERSONAL savior, so that you can discern truth from lies, or you will also bust hell wide open.
Too many catholic teachings are not Biblical, and are therefore false doctrine.

A Christian lives by the doctrine of the Holy Bible. Period.

Ok... First of all to all you people that say hell isnt real, you are just scared little babies trying to make yourselves feel better because you dont have a relationship with God and that is your grip.

And to the question religion is discusting its the relationship that you need. You dont need to come from a religious background or even go to church to be accepted into heaven. It is your relationship to God that determines where you go. It may not seem fair but athiests go to hell because they dont have a relationship with Jesus. Good or not. And if your a "dirty" christian you arnt a christin at all. Jesus said that he would rather you be a non believer than a fake one. He will "chew you up and spit you out of his mouth".

O and JESSICA...Sylvia Browne believes in God and Angels and Demons and Hell. I dont think you have really watched her on tv have you. because you would know this if you did.
Why are people so ignorant. my goodness.

Only if there is a god who demands belief in only him/herself... If there is a god who says "believe in me or go to hell" then it's very probable that we'll wind up there.

However the odds of it being the christian god, the islamic god, Zeus or whomever else is so remote that no matter what you believe odds are you'll wind up in hell anyway.

There have been so many different gods and beliefs over time that by sheer probability (if there is a judgmental supreme being) every person from every modern religion is 99% likely to wind up in hell..

Of course if there is a benevolent god he/she should judge you by your own merits, your actions, your life, philosophies and the impact you've left on other people's lives...

I'm an atheist. *gets struck by lightning* Just kidding. If there is a god, IF there is, I don't think he'll be mad that you don't believe in him. My parents never went to church, I never learned how to pray, etc. It's not my fault, right? I think some overly religious people say that we'll burn in hell or whatever so they can force their views on us. It's like those "The End Is Near" cardboard signs on hobo's backs. Two words; yeah right.

The atheists I know have spent a considerable amount of time and energy looking for god. They study the bible and secular history during biblical times. They look long and hard for a good reason to believe in god, but can't find one. Some of them never stop looking. If there is a god, it seems to me that he will be pleased with the people who cared enough to try to find the truth about him instead of believing with blind faith.

I think that anyone who contributes to humanity can be accepted by a God, though I'm Atheist. I just think that a god would be more open minded than shunning those who choose not to believe without proof. Any being able to create such diversity should be able to accept all.

That is, provided there IS a God.

You need to read your Bible again. People are not sent to hell for being good or bad people. People are sent to hell by their own free will by rejecting the only way out of it.

Now, you can say that "I don't believe God would do such and such..." But I would not bet my eternal soul against the Word of the Bible.

Well, from what i learned, shouldn't doing good things lead you to heaven?
even though jesus says that if you deny my father i will deny you infront of him
or something like that?
if athiest do burn in hell just cuz they are athiest, then cathlicism isn't my religion for sure (even though its not to begin with)
