The choice is completely up to you. I say don't necessarily NOT do it just because they are telling you. You have the right of course, to either try things with him or not. And if you regret it, they can probably say 'told ya so', but atleast you did what you maybe wanted to do. I would listen to my friends advice but yet be curious enough to try things or find out things for myself about him
