Bottled water may taste better if certain minerals are added or removed.. According to Penn and Teller and other sources, much bottled water is simply recycled city water, and there are no significant differences chemically between bottled water and tap water. I use filtered tap water and am very health conscious. I believe bottled water is a scam and a waste of money.

First you will need to know what kind of bottle water you are ordering. Mountain spring, artesian, wells, filter only.
If you get a R.O filter system then the water will taste like a refill center for bottle water. Most of the bottle water deliever service that gives purified water is tap water filter with r.o system.
If you want to save money use a r.o system with a good membrain use dow chemcial or GE. If you use a coconut filter then the water will taste sweet. I own a bottle water company and Filter company.

In some cases there is no difference. You really have to read the bottle to see what the source of the water is. Some of them are actually sourced out of municipal water supplies - so there is no difference.

Tap water often contains chlorine and fluoride and in general has more bacteria than bottled water does.

Often, bottled water contains minerals to improve the taste.

Not much. Local news stations have done reports on it, finding they are chemically the same! You're just paying for the bottle/label. Buy a few bottles, and just refill them.
