Just think its odd whenever you see a picture of Jesus he looks like a white caucasion to me. How can that be, considering the entire story of the bible. Same with the Virgin Mary. Its strange in my opinion how so many people believe in God and jesus. It's like a fairy tale story, a lot like Santa Clause in my opinion, presents=prayers. Also I have a question for a Christians out there....Do you believe in fate? In the bible it says that God knows how we are going to turn out and if we go to heaven or hell, yet it also says we choose our destiny. If he knows what is going to happen it us, how can we possibly change it? Just for the record, I grew up christian and always believed in God. Lately I have changed my stance on it, I Don't believe in God, yet I don't disprove of God. Kind of agnostic.

I guess its just weird to think that all the pictures you see of Christ are wrong even if he did exist. Anyone want to reply on that "fate" question.

Lets keep this thread free from criticizing please. I Never said God didn't exist, just that I don't have a belief one way or another. How would you christians feel if I was quoting from an athiest book or something? You dont believe in atheism so you wouldn't care, right?
Don't act like you know God exists, that is pretty ignorant. How do you know you even exist? Maybe your conciousness alone is all that exists....maybe everything is a dream.

The apostle John was given a vision of what Jesus looks like today in His glorified form. In Revelation 1 Jesus is said to have hair "white like wool," "eyes like a flame of fire" and to appear "like the sun shining in its strength.

That is his glorified form, not the one he had on earth.

If Jesus existed, he most certainly was not a straight-nosed fair skinned white of European descent. The concept of a white Jesus in flowing robes and long hair is pretty false, and I think most studied theologians would agree with that. Never once in the Bible does it say "Hey, Jesus is white, y'all!" It's just an image that constantly persists because of its popularity amongst it's predominantly white followers

Well the bible gives you details about what Jesus looked like . It says he had hair like wool and eyes red and skin of bronze now if that does not discribe a black man then what does we all know that the first man was from Africa right so what is the problem you know what if There was a way to prove that Jesus was a black man there would be very few white christians all black people know this we just don,t jump up and down about it and some black people don,t believe it because they have been brain washed to believe every thing the white man says is true Jesus is not a black and white thing make him who ever you waqnt just find him

Firstly I don't really think it matters what Jesus looked like, his actions, kindness and relevance to man kind is what Christians should be concerned about. However, it is widely agreed by most theologians that Jesus was not white or blond as depicted on many pieces of art with him on it. He would of been more middle eastern looking with olive/brown skin in all likelihood. Not that it matters.

Jesus was a man from the Middle East, so he most likely would have had an olive-skinned complexion with dark hair and brown eyes. God is pure spirit, which according to the teachings of Jesus, resides in all human beings, regardless of racial features. Hence, we are all children of God in a metaphorical sense; and basically, our skins are all just various shades of brown, from the lightest to the darkest tones. We should focus more on our common source rather than on our differences and the world will be much better off.

First off, Jesus was a Jew. If he looked any different from the other Jewish men of His day, it would have been mentioned. Since it wasn't mentioned, He most likely looked pretty much like an average Jewish man. Artists paint what they think He looked like, none of them had a clue. White artists paint Him white, blacks paint Him black, but actually, He was Jewish.

Just because God knows the outcome doesn't mean He influences us on that outcome. It's still our choice, our own free will.

The "classic" Jesus image was developed by Italian painters during the Renaissance.

Even early Christian artwork portrays a Jesus nothing like that.

Wow...dunno which books, etc. you've been looking in! Because I've never seen a white jesus! Anyways, Jesus did come from the Middle East, and it's highly unlikley you'll find white people there (other than those who've moved there)

More proof that people create gods and not the other way around.

And when they borrow them from another culture, they remake them in their own image.

The Romans adopted the Greek gods and renamed them and made them more Roman.

The Hebrews adopted the gods of Egypt and Sumaria, (El and Yaw) and remade them to be more like themselves. After the Non-Jewish Hebrews were killed off in 722 BC, Yaw-weh remained, but adopted all of the past histories of El.

Likewise, Jesus is now white and has parents with good white names that you can find in any American phone book, Joe and Mary. Only Jesus name is left in the Greek, which is funny because he was Semitic and named Yeshua, which translates to Joshua and he would be called Josh.

I guess 'Josh Saves' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

It's funny how anthropomorphically stupid people are.

Well Jesus could be any color. Hes white to whites ,black to blacks brown to those who are copper colored. or bronze. depends on the region one lives in i guess. God gives man a choice. as to say to man:
( "I will not guide you for you will not learn nothing, and if your life is a failure you will blame me. I will not take you by your hand, you must learn on your own. Or you will know nothing, and you life will have been a waste. But if you ask me for guidance, and understanding, i will help. But its up to you, to decide what choice you make in life. i will not chose for you." )
As for your belief, that was your choice not Gods. you chose not to believe, you gave up on God. So now you must,go thru life wondering if you made the right choice. Only you will know for sure. Just do what you feel is right.
But as the good book says. what man sees may seem right to him, but not to God

Jesus in the flesh was a jew...from the middleast...and, looked as arab men do in the middleast...
we as christians, do not go by pictures to have belief...we have belief threw our spirit.
I dont know what happened to you that you forget God so easily...and, say now he is as a santa claus fantasy...the lord that I know is real...and, reveals himself to me.

maybe the truth is you never knew him...perhaps you might ask him to reveal himself to you in a way that you will know he is the king of kings...

i think you want this..

god bless u
