You should wear a retainer. Even after the first year your teeth can start moving again.

Heather is right... wear your retainer religiously or your beautiful teeth that you spent so much money and agony on will drift into goofy positions again :( I know it will feel wonderful to get the metal out of your mouth but you need to use the retainer as instructed. I didn't and paid the price. Even if you don't wear it for a few days your teeth will start to move, and then when you put the retainer back in, it won't fit properly and will hurt so you won't want to use it and the downward spiral begins.

So.. use the retainer.. :)

Go to your DDS and get your teeth cleaned professionally. The orthodontist does not clean your teeth and alot of times leaves cement on the teeth. They will appear whiter also after they are cleaned by a hygienist and get x-rays also to check that you didn't get cavities between your teeth wear the bands were.
