Question Details: Hi, first to all of you proffesionals and naysayers: I don't mean to disrepect, steal your business, or get an answer like "man go to a proffesional for that" or "ouch". As well, I realize that everything must be completely sterile and have this issue well in hand. I finally convinced my wife to get a clitoral pierced. YAY!! But, now she says that I have to do the piercing myself. I have amateur experience piercing ears and nipples and such, but nothing that advance. Please help?

Thank you for all of the responses. The fact is that neither of us have the money to have a proffesional do the piercing. I believe I was unclear as to the piercing; I mean to pierce the hood. As far as pressure, this is something that she wants. As far as sterilization, I have a "clean" room as well as the equipment necessary to sterilize all implements to be used. To the person that said "Go to a proffesional" don't be smart. It only serves to make you look the fool.

I don't care about 'stealing business' for the sake of her safety you NEED to have it done by a professional piercer. You said it yourself, you have AMATEUR experience and clitoral hood piercings are one thing you need a good amount of skill and knowledge for. You could end up causing more harm than good and I don't think its your intention to hurt the woman you love. If you want to get into piercings, that's awesome, but do it by getting an apprenticeship and getting proper knowledge.
If she wants you to do it because she's embarrassed to have someone else look at her, she needs to remember we are PROFESSIONALS. We aren't going to try any funny stuff and if it sets her mind at ease, you can even go with her. Tattoo artists and piercers see so much in their day that they don't even bat an eye at it anymore. Minimal amount of her has to be exposed, it won't be that bad I promise
I URGE you to have it done by a professional, please. Take it from a professional who has seen all kinds of butchered self and friend done piercings, you want to have a pro do it.

First of all, you should do some more research before deciding to do this. What you're probably thinking of is the hood piercing, not the clitoral. The latter is not very common due to two reasons: most women do not have the correct anatomy and most piercers don't feel comfortable doing it. That being said, the piercing that it is almost always confused for is the hood.
Luckily, the hood is just a little bit a skin and not the actually clitoris which is a bundle of nerves. However, the hood piercing is a surface piercing, and is likely to reject, scar, etc.
I've had my hood done and loved it. However, if that would not be a fun area to get an infection, so it seems idiotic at best for her not to go to a professional. Though, if you've been pressuring her to pierce a part of her body that she's not comfortable with already, then she's doubly an idiot for staying with you.

as a tattoo artist and a piercer, all of which i have done in a shop and at home so i am neutral, do not attempt this yourself! this is from experience. wife wanted nipples and lip. did em. never heard the end of it. ouch, why does it hurt so much? why is it crusty? should i clean it? DAMN that sucked. eventually i made her take em out. in your case, the clitoris is no lip, nipple, tongue, ear, or nose bro! there are some major health issues related to sterilization, i know you said you took that into consideration but with a clit you can never be sterile enough, along with inexperience. just like the tongue, there are major veins in that area and if you pop one it is like trying to get a jugular to stop flowing! bad bad bad. get her to read this and convince her a pro should do it. its not worth saving a couple of bucks and risk an infection in her clit, sensory loss, and any other bad thing that can happen. just search for piercing horror stories.

Fact is I dont frown on at home piercing we all start somewhere. You will get alot of people bashing you but thats life. Nevertheless ... fact is that 1st of all that is a very serious piercing that if you do NOT no what you are doing you can cause serious damage. We are talking complete loss of feeling , serious bleeding , ect ....
There is NO way to explain something that detailed as all people have different bodies ...
On a 2nd note, the clitoral piercing is NOT a wonderful piercing. It causes women to have a constant oder due to constant stimulation , and with in 6 mo to 2 years she WILL loose ALL sensation there .... so it is NOT all that great in the 1st place.

I would actually go to a piercer to do this because it's dangerous for you to do it if you don't know what you're doing. I don't think that this is so much of a "steal your business or disrespect thing" ... it's more of a safety issue...
