Some are. You have to see if the school is accredited, and what organization it's accredited by. Most employers will accept diplomas or degrees from schools that have been accredited by national or regional accrediation organizations (Like the North Central Association, etc.)

My son graduated from NARS, North Atlantic Regional School, in Lewiston MA. We live in TN. It is a fully accredited highschool, and it accepted by the Armed Forces as such.

I doubt they're as excepted as a "real" school. But, I guess they may be more accepted than no degree at all. You mean a high school diploma or those colleges by correspondence?

Yes, if they are an accredited program, they are as real!!! Try Penn Foster or the American School. These are legit.
