I know exactly where you're coming from, I used a flat iron for 2 years every single weekday for school & my hair was EXTREMELY damaged from the heat. I had split ends & my hair was always dried out & rough, even after I washed it. For the past few months, I've been using vo5 hot oil treatments. There are two types: one that comes in a little bottle that you just use as it is, if you have short hair you use 1/4 of the bottle each week, but if you have medium-longish hair like I do, you use 1/2 of the bottle each week, so it lasts me 2 weeks & it costs about $3-$4. There's another kind, also called vo5 hot oil treatment which comes in a little tube that you have to drop in hot (NOT BOILING) water before use. You use the entire tube on wet hair right before shampooing & conditioning. I've only used these about 7 times but my hair is great, it smells amazing, it's always soft, & best of all, it's not dried out & rough. Hope this helps!

Olive oil!! Yes, place about a teaspoon of olive oil in a dish and heat it fo 10 seconds in the microwave. Apply warm oil to your hair, massaging it through thoroughly, concentrating on the ends. Cover with disposable shower cap and wait for 20 mins. Wash in the regular way. Do this once a week.

Condition, condition, condition. Don't shower with water that's too hot. Lay off of the blow dryer and curling iron. Get regular trims. And if you bleach or color... try to lay off of that too...
