There is no typical day. That's one of the great things about this profession. It might be really busy or it might be really slow. That depends on where you work, the season, etc.... But it can be VERY stressful, but also VERY rewarding.

In the UK, they take emergency calls and send out Police Officers to deal with emergencies. A typical day will probably include a few car crashes, some shoplifters, a fight or two, a domestic (family) dispute, someone being threatened by a neighbour, several missing people, several homes and businesses been broken into, a drugs overdose, and maybe someone trying to jump off a cliff. That's in the south east of England anyway.

Fielding calls for service. Dispatching closest units to those call locations. Taking Officer requests to check for warrants, etc. In two words: busy and stressful.
