both of them are unfortunate, but you can more easily change ignorance to knowledge, but thinking you know when you dont is a harder nut to crack. we must be open-minded enough to realize we may be wrong and admitt it.it is hard to be absolutely sure of most things

The illusion of knowledge is more dangerous, but the two often go hand in hand. This is the problem with religion and faith, they breed ignorance and misinformation while they create a convincing illusion of knowledge.

It's the scientists though who acknowledge when they're ignorant (going by what is tested, repeated, observable, etc.) and don't come up with absurd explanations out of the blue, they don't foster any illusions of knowledge the way faith does.

The illusion of knowledge is more dangers because it can influence others. If you believe a person is intelligent and presents them self as knowledgeable you might not question his motives.Ignorance is obvious so people are not apt to follow. Religion is based on your faith that's all you need, no explanation is necessary. I hope this gives you an answer that gives you peace.

Why do you hate it? You're not being forced to change YOUR mind and beliefs, it's just what some people believe and have a right to theirs as much as you have a right to yours. If you feel otherwise... that's your thinking. Personally, logically speaking ALL concepts, things and thoughts arise due to causes and conditions... NOTHING pops out of thin blue air, so obviously, by logical progression of thought, religion is a creation.

Ignorance is worse than the illusion of knowledge, because an illusion can be shattered, while ignorance, particularly willful, adamant, unmoving fundamental ignorance cannot be shaken by facts.

I'm an agnostic. I too believe religion is created by man. I have no proof of god nor any proof he/she is not there. I do however believe we were created by something. I do not think we know.
