What do you think about a man getting married to a man or a woman getting married to a woman. It is now legal in the UK.

well i love the idea that many couples can now show there love in the form of marriage
but it is well the same as heterosexual couples
i feel you need to remember marriage is suppose to be for ever
that is a big commitment

You are slightly wrong as the ceremony is not actually a marriage, more of a committment ceremony. This was to ensure a partner in a gay marriage had the same rights as a spouse as in one of the partnership dying the finances, pensions rights etc were passed to the partner as normally be the case with husband and wife. If 2 people love each other and are as certain they want to be together for life as in a couple of different sex with marriage, even more so if they have been together for a long time surely it is only right they are protected by law to the same degree as a married couple?

i have no problem with it and would wish them well and hope they have all the happiness that love and life can bring to them! i would also hope that one day it is legal everywhere i think its so sad when a couple cant have the same rights to heath care medical decisions and other things with out going to the great lengths of legal paper work that me and my husband paid $80.00 and 15 minutes of our time for and even when it comes to separation or divorce in many couples they make the same choice to have one partner stay home and care for children and then if one partner leaves and wants out of the relationship then the other who has been at home out of the work force is now screwed out of everything they have because there was no legal paper work to protect them not right and unfair! So i hope this will become something the whole world will open their minds to soon!

I think it's great. If two people are in love, who cares if they are of the same gender? Why should a gay marriage be any different than a straight marriage? It is now legal in a few states in the US as well, and I think it's fabulous. I have many gay friends and I look forward to going to their weddings!

Well, that's sounds very cool! they sound a lot more open-minded than the U.S. What do I think about it personally? I think that men belong with women and women belong with men and that's the way God intended it. But I have views that conflict with this. I think that God may actually smile down on a couple who are of the same sex and very much in love. If a minister of god wants to marry them, that is between them, the minister and God and I would attend the wedding. I also think it is none of the government's business.

It's their life, what gives you the right to say what is right or wrong, you just worry about your own life and let people live theirs the way they choose, it's called freedom and human rights. You need to grow up and accept that society changes, sounds like you are stuck in the dark ages to me. Either that or religious, because it is usually religious people that feel they have the moral high ground and the right to judge others.

Everyone has the right to their own happiness- who are we to judge what makes any one person happy.
To find love is a truly special thing and should be celebrated, whoever it is that a person finds love with.

if they want to get married then that's up to them but I do think its a different matter when they want to adopt kids. i think that's wrong cuz kids are mixed up enough while they are growing up
But think what it does to them when as you know kids run into their parents bedroom on a morning and they see two people of the same sex in bed.

at least they are getting married..thats more that what alot of hetersexual couples are doing now a day..it seems the gay community appreciates the scanity of marrige...

I know I'll get lots of thumbs down/abuse reports but it's disgusting and unnatural. God created two members of the opposite sex for the purpose of love and marriage and pro-creation. How in the world are two men serving that purpose?
