Because douche bags think the bible is real and the bible says that its not right to be gay, so they ignorantly modify their beliefs around it.

Hi David,
The Bible sets forth homosexuality as the consequences of disobedience and unbelief towards God very clearly in Romans chapter 1 verse 18 through 32. You might want to also read the story of Sodom and Gommorah in Genesis Chapter 19. Other passages to consider are Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13; I Corinthians 6:9-11 and I Timothy 1:8-10.
People will try to argue these passages away, trying to change the meanings of the words and come up with a thousand ways of rationalizing rather than come to acknowledge what God has said about the matter and be set free. Sadly, this seems to me to just substantiate exactly what the Bible says in Romans: "And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper..." (Romans 1:28)
God says "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9) The word translated "confess" here is the Greek word "homologeo", which means literally, to say the same as. That is, if we agree with God's assessment of sin , He has promised to help us. As long as people call what God calls sin an "alternate lifestyle" or whatever else they fashion it, God really can't help them. If you have pneumonia, but insist nothing is wrong with you, you may very well die of pneumonia. It shows me what a frightening power sin can have over a person, such that they would rather die than admit they need God to save them. I speak from experience. I too am a sinner, but God has helped me.
Surely they will call me hateful and hate me for saying such things, but I want to see them saved.

God created the human body and knows how such a lifestyle will effect it. But this is true for other behaviors as well, not just homosexuality.
Let me ask you if the following are sins...
fornication?
idolatry?
adultery?
theft?
coveting?
drunkeness?
reviling?
extortion?
Would you say "yes"? Then you would be right. For these are condemned elsewhere as well. So now you have to deal with 1 Corinthians 6:8-10
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
So, yes, the Bible makes it plain that it is indeed sin, and in the company of some pretty hefty ones at that. But just make sure you understand that God loves the individual, however, their behavior and life choice will lead them into bondage that will harden their hearts to God's eternal salvation. Because Homosexuality involves so much emotional investment, it is almost impossible to tell the them the truth without being labeled with very harsh epithets.
Remember, the sin of homosexuality is no blacker than my sin. And if the Christian truly hated homosexuals, they would keep the message of salvation to themselves, not try to change them, and let them go on their merry way to destruction. But because we care, we take the slings and arrows of 90% of the media and public to speak the truth. Hopefully with love and salt.
The Bible states that homosexuality is behavioral, for Paul states that many of the new believers had been delivered from homosexuality in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11,
"Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites... will inherit the kingdom of God. And SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."

Some people think it's wrong because they base their lives off of the bible. The bible says it's wrong because unions (marital or sexual) should be between a man and a woman as God intended. Same sex union is sodomy. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with being gay as long as everything is consensual and no one is getting hurt. Gay people are people too and they love like straight people. Why should other people deny them love?

I'm not answering the question but..... Why do Republicans (the ones who are usually more strictly religious) think its ok to be hipocrites about the word of God. They essentially persecute homosexuals instead of being good christians who love everyone and are tolerant in the example of Jesus. If you ask me, they are defying Jesus's message to spread hate. I am actually not a democrat if you are wondering, I am a free thinking moderate.

I am a Christian, went to private school and my father was a priest. I was always told that being gay was wrong, but as I got older I understood that being gay is something you are born with not become later. In my family we have 3 gay men on my father's side, that includes the youngest of my brothers. For Christians to judge them we are not being Christ like which is the purpose for being Christians; yes God created all of us and he does not make mistakes but nature does. How else would you explain children born with down-syndrome, do you think God purposely did that?
Its not right for us to judge since in the whole universe we are merely dust, let God do it at the end.

basically because at the time when the bible was written , the world was not as populated
illness and disease took many lives etc
so they wanted to protect the species by making sure that everyone had children
therefore it seemed unnatural for men to be with men and women to be with women
they thought it to be a choice
in this day and age we do know better , we know that people would not choose such a life if they could help it
and we do not need to reproduce and populate the earth as it is already over populated
but the bible is the bible and what is written is supposed to be the word of God , so some people stick with that despite anything else
i know you are making religion decisions just now David and i know you are young
but please sweetheart
make good decisions

Read Genesis, when God created Adam, he knew he needed a help meet, so he made Eve for him, not a Steve. God ordained marriage to be for one man and one women. Period. Several times in the Bible God states that homosexuality is a sin, an abomination to Him, as it goes against God and nature. Plus, its nasty, why do you want to touch something you already have?????

Just because someone is attracted to someone of the same sex does not mean they have to act on it. It is called self-control.
Sex outside of marriage (one man and one woman) is fornication. Fornication is a sin, therefore it is wrong.
God created Adam and Eve. Man and woman.
Sin any sin is an abomination in the eyes of the living God.

Because one book and its followers says so.
The idea of it being a sin is pretty stupid really but at least people grow up though for the narrow minded it takes a while longer
