So I've only had steak at Peter Lugers in Brooklyn..needless to say it was wonderful. I had the Strip House in NYC was where the NY strip originated from. Anyone who has been to both places can claim which they think was better? and why?

The Strip House is good - it's in a much more convenient location, the potatos are better at Strip and the steak is good. But, one bite of Peter Luger's porterhouse and my knees went weak, I was lighthead - nirvana. The Strip House has good steak, but that's all it is - a good steak cooked to order. I'm not a fan of creamed spinach no matter what is done to it - not even truffle oil makes it something I'd go out of my way for. I dream about Peter Luger's porterhouse. There are other steak houses in New York that are better than the Strip House, but nothing is better than Peter Luger's. They've been in business more than a hundred years - very few restaurants can make that claim. There is just no comparison between the two restaurants.

Also, The Strip House is in New York about five years or so. It was called a strip steak for many, many years.

Personally I think that Smith & Willensky is better than either of the others.
