Neither...I just don't see the point in wasting natural resources to see a group of cars going in circles. At least a traffic jam represents economic development.

nascar is the biggest waste. if we were smart, we would use nascar races to genocide thousands of rednecks.

Simply put, no, NASCAR is not the biggest waste of natural resouces. All autoracing combined wouldn't come close to being the biggest waste of natural resources. If they managed to use 100 times more than current levels, it would still be minor compared to the waste of half full transcontinental airplane travel. Increasing average milage on trucks by 1/2 MPG would have a larger impact... the fact is autoracing overall makes up a very tiny portion of fuel consumption. And NASCAR is but a small fraction of that.
So, taking the question down a level, is it a waste at all? It depends on how you look at it... the most fuel efficient of race cars will get perhaps 4mpg; alot will be around half that or less. Back in the late 70s, IMSA changed the rules to make gas use a factor in racing for many IMSA sanctioned events (to encourage better fuel economy and related technology development): this meant that prototype cars then jumped all the way up to 2.5-3mpg. It doesn't sound like much, but the impact was ultimately very large in terms of conserving gas. Not in racing, because the amount used in racing is such a tiny fraction, but the knowledge gained meant more fuel effiecnt cars from automakers. So, in that case, a very minor waste led to great savings.
Even though none of the current series (including NASCAR) make fuel use a stated goal, there are still many improvements related to this that filter down (because a more fuel efficient car means less fuel weight and less time spent in the pits). Given the current climate though, I wouldn't be suprised to see fuel economy rules being considered again to for NASCAR or other series (I know F1 has been talking about this for a little more than a year in regards to the next rules spec).
In the big picture, there is waste that generates a return which is greater than the waste. But it's certainly not the biggest waste.

Biggest waste? no. But I do admit that NASCAR does waste natural resources.
Apparently you just don't get the thrill about racing, I don't look at that viewpoint, and the thing is, if they didn't drive in circles, they would be wasting a lot more space for a track, making it waste even more. NASCAR just compresses the thrill of racing into a track that isn't so big.
Although I wouldn't mind if the races all got shortened, if they just cut it down to a maximum of 400 miles per race, that alone would save quite a lot of fuel.

NASCAR is one of the largest sporting organizations in the country. They have become more popular than Football and Baseball. They also have the largest charity divisions of all the pro sports. I think that's worth a little gas

i do no longer think of we've the excellent suited to tell human beings what to do with the our bodies of their family individuals individuals. i think of we could permit human beings the excellent suited to chosen; fortuitously this spectacular, as properly as many different factors, effect in an outstanding stability that forestalls burial and cremation from starting to be a severe danger to organic supplies. In places like Japan, the place real sources is amazingly high priced, cremation is the familiar determination because it rather is a lot extra fee-effective. In places like Canada and america, the place land is ample, burial is a useful and familiar determination. The element of fee and inhabitants, as properly as faith, furnish an outstanding stability. In Buddhist worldwide places, persons are extra in all risk cremated, in Judeo-Islamic-Christian worldwide places, persons are in all risk buried. Cremation motives pollutants and such as you stated, potential. even nonetheless, we are fortunate via fact no longer everybody is doing it everywhere interior the international. the place there's a impressive style of land, we choose no longer hassle approximately working out of grave websites for an extraordinarily long term, and the place there is little land, persons are in all risk to cremate their family individuals individuals somewhat than spending large quantities on a burial internet site. additionally, some places (mutually with some eu worldwide places) allow you to hire out plots. as quickly as that deed expires (many times long after that persons on the spot family individuals has perished) the positioning is wiped clean up and subsequently reused. as a result, to reply to your question--no, i do no longer think of they're a waste of supplies. Nor a reason for subject. i could be afflicted if everybody in the international became being cremated or everybody in the international became completely buried, yet fortuitously the above reported factors enable for an outstanding stability.
