Yes and he deserves it, advise him of that. Just hope that while he is sitting in prison he can think of a better line of work, and I hope it changes his life for the better.

He will face jail time. How much is not known.. that is, of course, reserved for the judge to decide. It doesn't really matter that it's his first offense. He is being held for possession AND distribution. He's naive to think he might be able to get off without some jail time. You probably don't want to hear it, but I think that he should get jail time. It might straighten him out. Heroin is a powerful drug and very harmful to be selling.. Had it been just marijuana, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. Also, it's a felony so he has screwed up his life with that felony count against him.. Squealing on his distributors and others in the supply chain might appeal to him.. but that can be dangerous as well. Wish the best of luck for you and him though.. You should beat his tail though if he gets out of this..

He will get time. Advise him? Have him talk to the lawyer and see if they can get him a bargain to shorten the sentence since first time offender. They may require him to squeal on his suppliers though and I don't know how he'll feel about that.
Otherwise do the tough love thing. Say you are an adult now. You got yourself into it, you get yourself out of it.

he should do time for this , a felony is a bad thing to have on your record , hopefully he will learn from this , i hope he gets at least enough time to scare him away from drugs and maybe you should advise him not to do drugs anymore and advise him to get an education instead, i have no sympathy on drug users or sellers , i got a 5 yr old that i adopted and he is limited on things he can do because his birthmom was a drug users and its not fair when kids have no choice , your son had a choice and he made the wrong one so let him do his time and encourage him to seek counseling to help him with staying away from drugs , he is to young to waste his life on such useless things

Ummm.......Yeah Felony=Jail Time. He's going to jail for a while. He would still go to jail for possession, but since distribution is involved, he will be going for longer.

Depends on the Judge. It does seem likely though, but I am not affluent on Ohio law.

Distribution is the hard part. It's OK to be an addict, but not to actively help create new addicts. Talk to his lawyer. He needs someone to stand by him and be willing to help - if he is willing to accept help - if the judge is going to have any willingness to help him.

there's really nothing you can do for him. most likely he will go away for the longest of time in his life and hopefully being in jail, he will learn the error of his ways but if he doesn't? you beat the **** outta his ***.
