Windows Media Player problem?

Question

Media player 10,won't burn or rip music anymore. I am the administrator,or at least I think I am. How do I make sure? It says this: C00D11C7: Cannot play, burn, or synchronize the file. Also this: The required codec is not available on the codec server.
Error ID = 0xC00D11C7, Condition ID = 0x00000000. I have done what it told me to do. I have it set to Download codecs automatically. I have tried to rip from a few different Cd's and nothing works. I also have Nero and that burns cd's with no problem. I am thinking some other settings somewhere are wrong but I don't know where to look. Should I just unstall it and redownload it? Help!

the easies thing to do, is just go back to the media player home and re-download it and install it over the existing one. i have had problems with the version11 3 times and now i have none. for some reason the download didn't take right a few times and i pinpointed it to be the spyware and viral programs that were interfering with the codecs. that was AVG doing this. norton can cause a bad download as well.

uninstall. internet explorer on my part does that once in a while.
you need to also fic the registry setting with some software called
registry mechanic. you can find a knock-off version of that at
majorgeeks.com under registry.

I think that you should uninstall and reinstall and if that doesnt work, then contact someone from Media Player
