You know if you wanna put your money where your mouth is get some solar panels or wind catchers on your property. Federal law say the energy company has to pay you if you are producing more electricity then you are using.

I know what you mean. Problem is that electricity generation is governed by economics more than anything else. Generally the greener and cleaner the energy the more expensive it is to produce.
All energy could be produced from solar, wind, tidal power etc but the average electricity bill would be huge. Whilst this might not bother the rich people who have plenty of spare money, the majority would be affected and wouldn't stand for it. It would also be political suicide for any politician involved.
Unfortunately if there's no viable alternatives then it's going to end up being coal plants. You can help by doing your bit but it's not going to help a lot if you have 11 coal fired power stations being built in your state.
We moved a few months ago to a rural location - one of the reasons was to get away from the dirt and pollution, I sympathise with you.

Cheep electricty does not have to be bad-though coal is not the greatest. We can make solar electric power plants that are clean and if we use the waist heat almost 100 effecient. Push for coals real price-including health.

You don't, but you are suppose to help your future generations. i.e. your children, grandchildren, etc. What you don't want a better life for them? And anyway, at least you don't make too much pollution, forget the coal plants or its absence.

We could always go back to living in a tee pee, like Indians.
These days, they are so fancy!
I really like the 3 & 4 bedroom tent models they have at Wal-mart. Which kind are you getting? It's way more eco-friendly than a forest destroying house!
