I watched them both and nobody can drive a car like Earnhardt Sr. He is The King in my book.

Ok I think Richard Petty is the King of Nascar because he has most of the records in racing. He has 7 Daytona 500, The most Wins (200), The most wins from the pole (61), The most starts. So I think he is the king If you ask any Nascar Driver they would probally say the same thing. Dale Sr. Was the Intimidator of Nascar. Sure both Dale sr. and Richard Petty have the most championships (7 each) But Richard so off all.

Dale Sr. is not even close to Richard Petty's all time win list. He is the only driver in Nascar history with triple digit wins. I am not a Dale Earnhardt fan. I think that he purposely wrecked people to win. Now I know that rubbing is racing, but he made a career out of wrecking people to win. Richard Petty was and is a class act. He is in his own league and nobody is even close. He was, is and always will be the King.

I would say you have to call Petty the King as everyone does. He has won more races than anyone and no Dale SR. is not really close to the amount of wins by Petty. I think another name that could be thrown in the mix is Alan Kulwicki. He died in 93 in an off track accident while on his way to Bristol to race. To the best of my knowledge he is the only person to win the Cup title while owning & racing his own car. If his life had not ended so soon maybe he would be the one compaired to "The King, Richard Petty"

Dale sr was great at what he did, but his title is "The Intimidator". He was a huge highlight to the sport of Nascar.
The title of King goes to but only one that is Richard Petty everyone knows that, and that is where the title stays.
Both had great wins when nobody knew about when was not big Nascar like it is now... I like to say I'm a huge fan of the guys Dale Sr. and Richard Petty They know what is was to race... R.I.P. Dale Sr and Go!! Petty

It is King Richard the 43rd, He's the guy that done it all in a cup car. And as for people liking Dale Sr., back in the 80's he was booed more than Jeff Gordon ever was.

Doesn't really matter though, Brian France is going to put NASCAR in the ground if he keeps up all this other crap, he has changed more things and rules over the past 5 yrs than the 25 yrs before, someone needs to kick his butt out

Dale Earnhardt Sr. was the last remaining dinosaur of NASCAR racing. All of the other greats had either died, retired from racing or lost their ride. Dale Sr. was the last intimidator that the sponsors allowed to wrinkle his car because his name alone was the selling point. He could crease his fender by moving another car out of the way and the fans and sponsors loved it. If he had a chance to gain a position you'd better hang on because he was going to take that position. Richard Petty may have won 200 races but does it make sense that he could have legally won twice as many race as his competitors??? Give me a break. It just didn't happen that way. Darrel Waltrip???? STOP!!!!
People get what the settle for. That's why he's in the booth and he sucks at that. Dale SR. is the undisputed, modern-day king of racing.

Sorry, Dale Sr. is nowhere near Richard Petty's number in wins. And the "king" is not decided by who is liked by the fans more, it's about who was the best driver.
You can argue that he is the best, but according to stats, Petty is the "king"
(really, there shouldn't be a king at all)

Petty is the King, just because someone is dead doesnt mean we should hold a coronation ceremony for them. He was a good driver, not a great driver, a good driver. Drivers who will finish with more wins and just as many championships as Dale Sr.

Gordon, and Stewart. Gordon already has 4 championships, and 75 wins in 15 years of Nascar, Stewart has 29 wins and 2 championships in 8 years. Dale Sr. had 76 wins and 7 titles over a 27 year period not all that impressive if you ask me.

Jr is not the greatest driver, however he is a good driver. For all the Jr haters out there, is has always been a top 15 driver regardless of where he was signed to drive. He is currently in the champoionship hunt and that is without a win, so he is doing it on consistancy. Jr is one of the most popular drivers and many non-fans would say it is because of his daddy. There may be a little truth to that at the beginning, but more importantly Jr. says it like it is. He is just like his dad when he says when he screwed up, when other screwed up and even gets excited for top 10 runs. Basically in this politically correct world he is down to earth. He never asked to be the most popular driver but he is and he is for a reason. Been a decade since Sr died and if he wasnt likable on his own then Sr fans would have left him by now.
