the determination of metastatic cancer would not be based solely on an MRI. it is doubtful that this would be the diagnosis at this point. If they found something even a suspicious tumor or a growth, they would want to do further testing such as blood tests and tissue samples or biopsy to determine the nature of the growth. Not all growths are cancerous. But in any case, the best thing that you can do for yourself is think positively and try not to stress out. The stress will do far more worse for you than anything else at this point. So, take deep breaths, pray, meditate, and convince yourself that you'll get through whatever this is. Your body has an incredible ability to heal itself better than any medicine, but you have to let it do its thing without hindering it by stressing out.

I thought i had a brain tumor last year, also had an MRI. Wow, that was the longest, most painful wait of my life, but I'm fine! I really have a feeling you are too.
This is going to sound weird, but do you drink a lot of milk or eat a lot of dairy products? Some people get a build up of stuff in their tonsils and they gag up and cough up little white chunks. It's very strange but it's not scary. Some people just live with it while others get their tonsils removed. Are the little white chunks like phlem, or are they kind of hard? If they're kind of hard but you can squish them up, it sounds like they're coming from your tonsils.
I have a very strong feeling you are going to be just fine, and tomorrow when you hear the good news you will be so happy that you'll probably buy pizza and ice cream for the whole family!
Good luck, I'll be thinking about you. Please post a follow up for us? :o)

If you don't have cancer, you may not get to see your kids grow up and graduate high school and get married.
That's because life is a craps shoot. You could walk out your front door and get hit by a bus, or you can live to a very old age.
Cancer isn't the death sentence it used to be. There are many advancements, and if you find out about it early enough, your life can be saved.
And don't freak out until you talk to the doctor. It could be anything. It sounds more like a respiratory illness than anything.
Don't borrow trouble, my mom always said, and she was right.

I would think that if it were cancer they'd tell you right away - today! If it is cancer, the treatments today are so much better than they used to be and people are surviving. I had a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 34. She kept working full time while on chemo because the meds she was taking made her feel well enough to. That was 6 years ago and she's doing great. I'll say a prayer for you that it's not cancer.

There might be a chance.
Five hundred years ago, people said the world was flat. Today, people say that if the FDA and AMA haven't blessed something, it can't be real good. Well, here's something I know to be real AND good. It's a little different take on cancer treatment--
In 1990, I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I've survived. My doctors were great people, but they were limited to surgery, chemo and radiation by profitable AMA treatment policy. During the year in treatment, I started learning about alternative medicine. I'm a retired engineer, and this is what I've pieced together--our IMMUNE SYSTEMS become weakened by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and reduced oxygen. Once that happens, our body becomes vulnerable to common STRESSORS. Stressors can be environmental, like viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, electromagnetic waves or pollution. They can be internal things like emotional or job stress, or poisonous people in our lives. Aging is also a contributing factor. So this means:
WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM + STRESSORS = DISEASE (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)
Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.
It takes a LONG time, usually, or a high level of stressors, to weaken the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.
THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that are currently being used in Europe and around the world, and there are some great books on the subject. I know because I've read about 50 of them from cover to cover. Here's a list of the best ones. Some are out of print and getting hard to find--
"The Cure for All Cancers", ISBN 0963632825
"The Cure for All Advanced Cancers", ISBN 1890035165
"A Cancer Therapy", ISBN 0882681052
"Oxygen Therapies", ISBN 0962052701
"Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle", ISBN 1885236077
"The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium", ISBN 0533071410
"Killing Cancer", ISBN 0705000966
"Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About", ISBN 0975599518
I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) AFTER they went on programs of herbs and nutrition to restart their immune systems.
You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy. This is not a joke, and I'm not selling anything--just trying to help.
I am using the things I learned in those books right now to fight off a second infestation of cancer. I've been at it for over a year now, and think I'm going to make it. Use what works for you, and pass on your success. Best of luck.

Call a hospice or a therapy group even if you don't have cancer being upset like this can't be good! And if you do have cancer these type's of places can help. People think a hospice is for dying but it is so much more then that, it is for people who are sick or have cancer, AIDS, or any type of long term disease. And let's just pray they caught in time if it is cancer. Good luck and try not to worry 'till you find out for sure.

Be calm. That's all I can tell you. I had Dysplasia of the cervix. When I found out, I was the same as you. Everyone was assuming I was sexually active at that time, when I really wasn't. But you know what? It's better if they detect these type of things early so they can get the growths and cells out. That way, it lowers your chances. I'm 19, almost 20, and it was last month when I found out and had to have surgery for it. It totally made me lethargic and devistated. I was completely miserable. So, please. Just keep calm and positive. Don't jump to conclusions. If you need someone to talk to, contact me through my profile. My messaging name is on there.
