Has anyone heard of humans being born with tails? I heard this phenomenon happens when ancestrial traits suddenly reappear after thousands,even millions of years. Do you believe this somehow proves or bolsters the case for evolution? I think this challenges the creationist idea that every living species emerged in its present form.

i don't feel that this proves evolution, but i think that evolution has a lot more proof backing it up than creationism.
as mentioned above, we are all born with tails but usually they aren't visible through the skin. some are born with longer ones than others because their genes were a little off from the rest of the population.

As we form in the womb we all have a tail present, but due to Natural Selection (one of the five mechanisms of Evolution) it has been "voted" out and it disappears shortly after during our process. SOME people are born with it however.

It's not so much the existence of atavistic tails in humans that provides evidence for evolution, but that we have the *same* genes which code for tails as many other vertebrates, which is exactly what you would expect if all vertebrates are related by common descent.

That, or the spine grows into a tail as the result of genetic mutation, which is accepted in both evolution and creationism. I think it bolsters neither position.

They will just call the babies with tails demons and abominations. When the number of people with tails grows large enough, the tensions will hit a breaking point. A civil war will break out, and we will all either be bible thumpers, or tailed.

No, I can't say that I have ever heard of it. I would think if it were true, the evolutionists would be out there on every television in the land. Check it out before you believe it. And as a balance, check out some of the "creation" web sites like Creation Museum or the Creation Network. They have scientific evidence also.

We all have tails. It is called the cocyx, the small bones at the base of the spine. I would imagine it is not unknown for some people to be born with longer or bigger ones.
