Yesterday morning I was having a sharp pain in my side, (I did not change anything in an athletic manner or any other manner) and it gradually sharpened through the day. Around 8 hours later the pain became prominent when i would walk or laugh. around nine hours later, i began feeling slightly noxious and warm. I did not have a high fever.. Today (over 24 hours later), when pressure is applied i still have the sharp pain in my lower right side, it has become slightly more dull and radiating, but I have a generalized pain that I can only assossiate with nasea in my stomach. the pain is still mainly prominent about 2 inches to the right of my belly button. I can eat but I am not particularly hungry. And through the night I was plagued by two cases of diharrea. I am still feeling warm but do not have a high fever (again no more than one degree). I am 16 and athletic if that would have any affect on an answer. Should I go to the hospital or wait it out and see if it lessens?

When I had appendicitis back in January, I had the same exact symptoms as you are describing. So I would probably get it checked out asap if I were you.

I would try to get into to see the doc as soon as you can. Since you're nauseous, it's either severe gastritis, constipation or something related. It could even be IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). It really doesn't matter if it's on the right or left side anymore. There are some people who are born with some non-essential or even essential organs on the opposite sides. My sister's gall bladder was on her left side, and not her right.

So you'd be wise to see a doc right away. If it is your appendix, you're risking a possible rupture. Once it does, then those poisons are released into your system and it'll make you very ill. Let your mom and dad know and give them the 'heads up.'..for your own safety. Good luck.
