Only if it's wooden. Plastic melts and metal makes the nuker go up in flames.

There are (despite what has already been stated) two schools of thought on this. It is always said that nothing metal must be used in a M/Wave oven yet by putting a spoon into the cup whilst heating a drink DOES prevent the 'super-heating' effect where liquids can become dangerously hot - I've seen it done once on the grounds that it's the proportion of metal to the rest of the contents - and no sparking occurred - yet you just try putting a plateful of grub in there on a plate with the tiniest amount of ultra-thin metallic decoration and you get a fireworks display !

not really, if the spoon is metal. I mean I have done it and as long as you remove the spoon quickly there is usually no harm done, but there can be. It will spark and make loud noises.

Another warning I was once reheating a cheeseburger I bought at a fast food restaurant, the wrapper was the kind that has foil on the inside, it caught on fire.

Only if the spoon is plastic. If there is any metal your microwave will have a melt down.

I would guess that you have already done it. But No it should not hurt it. But (Stop) before it does. You are not supose to put anything metal in the microwave.

Not metal ones you can't - metal reflects the micro waves back on the oven and it might just go boom!
