If man didn't have freewill he would be puppet,
Our power of reasoning is our freewill,
Man was created with freewill he has a choice? He either serves his creator or he rebels.
The first man and woman rebelled, that sure caused a lot of pain for the human race but also for their creator. see Genesis 6:6
As long as man keeps self seeking for himself he will fail.
Only when he learns how to repent and learns what his creator can do for the human race and the earth will he understand, That's why we have God's word to teach us to understand. For example Revelation 21:3,4, Isaiah 2:3,
But I am afraid that many will be destroyed first. Only a few will survive the Great day of God's anger. See Zephaniah 2:2,3
Because of mans free will he chooses how he wants to praise or worship God, but to his own demise. Because we need to learn what God wants and how he wants us to be.
(Matthew 15:8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.. . .

To serve God we need to learn from his word on a individual basis first, then when a person knows the true milk of the bible he can progress to maturity and teach others.
A good point to remember is test all scripture and all teachings to see that you are not mis-led 2 Tim 3:16

Read Charles Spurgeon online about "free agency" that is what He calls it- since the Bible does not speak of free will- especially when it comes to salvation, the Bible supports that God chooses us- nowhere does it say we choose God. See John 6:44 and Read Romans 9 also and Ephesians 1-that is about how we were pre destined.
Now we have a sinful nature still, and will fall short always---that is why we must always confess our sins to God, and of course He knows when we are going to sin, and it all works out for His glory in the end. Everything He has done, and will do is for HIS glory, and for the good of those who love Him.
Notice in the Bible, in the gospels how Jesus "chose" his disciples? They did not choose Him, infact He did not even ask them to follow Him, he said "follow me" and they stopped what they were doing and followed him. So it is with salvation--when we hear the gospel, those who will receive it, those who will call upon the Lord, it is the Lord who draws them ( John 6:44)
It is the Lord who changes us, and any good in us is because of HIM! Jesus says "apart from me you can do nothing" --so true!
Romans 3:10 says "No one is good, not one and no one seeks after God"
--God has a plan for everyone--see Proverbs 16:4 too. Those that do not get saved, well of course they are still responsible and we are all responsible for our own actions.....but we are born into sin, and sin takes a big part in our lives, when we receive salvation in Christ, we are set free from sin- no longer under the Law, but under God's grace ( Ephesians 2:8)
Romans 9 is a good chapter to read, to humble yourself in the Lord, and realize He is God and what He does is good. No matter what. God Bless!

I have come to believe in a modified version of free will. I think the story of the Garden of Eden clearly shows Adam and Eve had the power to obey God or to disobey Him. Unfortunately they chose the latter. I believe people are born with a free will, but eventually lose their power of free will by repeatedly yielding to the temptation to sin. Just like a smoker or a heroin addict or an alcoholic; they once had freedom to choose to imbibe or refrain from their addiction, but after repeated indulgence they loose the will power to quit. Only with outside help, and then usually only with difficulty are they able to get free.
Jesus said: "Truly, truly I say to you, anyone who commits sin (the verb is in the present tense, suggesting a continuing practice of sin) is the slave of sin. And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. If therefore the Son shall make you free you shall be free indeed." (John 8:34,35)
It is only when we are born again by the Spirit of God that we are able to break free from the cycle of sin and self destructive habits. "For the Law of the Spirit of the Life in Christ Jesus has se you free from the Law of Sin and of Death." (Romans 8:2, etc)
The subject is of course far too broad with too many variables to address fully.

Rather than to quote you Bible verses, I suggest you read about the people of the Bible. (Moses, Joshua, Abram (Abraham), Matthew, John, Paul etc.) In every instance, they had to make the decision to follow God or Christ. They had to make the decision to run away or stay and fight the battle even though it meant a great deal of sacrifice. Oh yes, we have free will.

Yes we do. We face it everyday and every night. God gave us that in the Beginning Starting from the first Book in the Bible Genesis. Adam and Eve God told them what they must know and the outcome but They CHOSE to do what they want and they SINNED. We can choose to be with God or With Satan their is really no in between. GOD has no control of what we do unless we ask or accept him in our life.

Humans have free will , that is, the ability to make their own decisions, to act in accordance with their conscience (or lack of it). Animals have no such freedom.
The Bible has nothing to do with it.
