Most Jews think that any Jew who becomes a Christian is no longer Jewish.

-------------------------
Messianic Judaism is a religious sect whose congregants are comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who believe that Jesus of Nazereth, whom they call Yeshua, is both the savior and the resurrected Jewish Messiah. Messianic Jews practice in a way that they consider to be authentically Torah-observant and culturally Jewish.

Messianic Judaism is not considered to be a form of Judaism by Jewish denonimations, most Christians, and Messianic Jews are not considered Jewish under the State of Israel's Law of Return.

there is no such thing as a messianic jew, or a jew who is "for jesus". the people who use that term are part of of a movement in evangelical christianity whose goal is to convert jews to their faith, and to keep christians from converting to judaism.

they come to our temple sometimes. they will be very polite for a few weeks, putting on kippas, and saying that they are there because they just "feel god is drawing them away from christianity and towards the jewish people" within a few weeks, they will start talking about how much love they have for the jews, but they have seen so many miracles performed in the name of jesus with their own eyes, and they are torn. then they procede to tell us how we can see those miracles too, if only we will come with them to the "heaven or hell" play at the evangel church of christ temple.

it is most embaressing when they try it with our WWII vets and holocaust survivors.

thank you for asking this question in such a respectful manner. if you have other questions about judaism, feel free to email me. also ask moses.com lets you do live chat with rabbis, it's very conservative, but still helpful.

They are called Messianics. They call themselves Jewish, but they are not. They are a sect of Christians that likes to dress like Jews and convert Jews.
