See your physician first of all. Try honey and water mixed together..but don't take this as a cure...You need to see a physician if it is as bad as you state.

Some things to consider...Do you smoke, drink excessively, or have you been exposed to chemicals at work, or in your home?
See your doctor, there are many causes for dry mouth or dry throat other than dehydration. Try to avoid milk, it can irritate the sinuses and produce mucus in the throat which can give you a scratchy, dry feeling throat. Throat losenges can bring some relief too. Drink water, and try hot tea with honey before bed until you can see your doctor.

Try Thayer's Slippery Elm Losenges, they work like a charm. This herb (Slippery Elm bark) makes the mucous membranes slick and slippery, so the dry, stickiness abates and lets you rest. They dissolve really well, they're not hard like many cough drops or losenges. I feel that it's safe to use at bedtime, because it melts and doesn't seem like it would get caught in the throat. It's also good for strengthening the vocal chords, if you sing. Go to your health food or natural food store (herb & vitamin shop).

There is a gum for extremely dry mouth called Biotene. It's for people who have all kinds of problems like sinusitis. There are 16 sticks of gum in a package and it cost between $2 and $3. A friend of mine uses the mint flavor. I think they may have one or two other flavors. Hopes this helps you out. I think they keep it in or near the Pharmacy department. I know you can get it at Walgreen's, and Walmart.

May be you should try changing your sleeping position. And ask somebody to check out if you sleep with your mouth slightly open. You could gargle with warm salt water or mouthwash to reduce the inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html
