By sexual activity, do you mean with others? Masturbating? People have masturbated as young as in the womb I've heard. It may not be considered sexual activity though. If you mean any act that implies sexual relations, ie. Oral sex, Anal sex, heterosexual intercourse, handjobs, footjobs and all that other stuff that humans have conjured up with their imaginations...what was the question? Parents have the responsibility to determine what they think is age appropriate for their children. If parents don't raise their children to think for themselves, guess what? Their children will do what they want, when they want. That is why parent's sometimes end up paying the consequences for their childrens actions. If you think 5y/o sexual behaviour is acceptable then your child will too. If you think 16y/o is okay, then so on and so on. So, think about everything that you think is acceptable to you and you determine the age for yourself. If you can't, then open your bible and let it guide you.

I'm not entirely serious, this is me before my first cup of coffee. LOL

Well if you choose to begin having sex while in school....then you are going to get talked about,And you become nothing more than a well you know what to the guys. Yes all guys want is what is in your pants....but do you want the bad name to go with it? You have to remember....no matter what any one says...where it be your friends ..... who are full of lies anyway, or the guy you are seeing.....your body belongs to you and you only.....respect it, respect yourself. Once you begin having sex....then that will be the only reason all the other guys want to date you. It is hard with all the peer pressure....but there is no need to ruin your life by have sex and risking a STD and pregnancy....both at a young age will ruin your life. I would hold out as long as you can, and preferably wait until engaged, and or married.

Well, I had sex at 15. I agree, that is a bit early. Most people do it around 16 or 17 (well, girls at least). But the thing is, I knew a lot about contraception, and things like that. Then again, I'm French and we do get sexual education at school, and I had read about it in books taken at the public library. Also, very few people wait until they get married in France, and the rate of teen pregnancy and abortion is lower than in America (condoms and pills are a good combo), and way less people have chlamedia and stuiff like that (because we tend to use condoms more).

Also, I was the "condom generation": when I was a teenager (well, I'm 27, you do the math), the governement launched a campaign against AIDS and promoted the use of condoms. I think they are being used less and less, because it's becoming very common. But overall, teenagers are aware of STDs and unwanted pregnancies, and not many girls sleep around, they tend to do it with someone they love (there are exceptions, of course, but I don't think it's very common).

I think that, if you know about contraception, STDs, if you don't sleep around, if you do it with your boyfriend and you love him, if you do it because YOU want it and NOT because he is pressuring you to do it, then it's ok. But I would say 16/17/18 is fine.

Personally, I think that a person should not have sex until they are 18. I have a daughter that had a baby at the age of 17 and her life changed drastically. Not just for her, but for our whole family.
I realize that they have a lot of pier pressure, but I think they should wait.

I believe that a person should be married. That is not realistic for everyone. So, I will say when you are old enough to take on the responsibility of a family. At least out of high school.
