I live in the Midlands in the UK - and we have very hard water. When I visit the south the water is softer and my hair stays cleaner / non-greasy for longer. As soon as I come back home my hair is quite greasy within a day of washing. Any suggestions on how I can get around this?

Hi, have you tired looking on the Lush website at their Shampoo bars, They make one for hard water areas, so you can get the care you need and what you are after in soft water areas with one of these bars. Its worth having a look, I think its called HARD, there is a discription any way. So if you go to the uk Lush website and go to shampoo bars then you should find the range they have. I admit if you havent tried them before there a bit wierd as there like soap but for your hair. You get loads of lather and they last ages and good for washing anything. You may find some other products on there too. I got one to make my hair shiny i cant remember what its called its white and my hair was sqeaky clean and soft with loads of shine it was also smooth. Which you dont get with bottle shampoos.

Move to Scotland. It's so soft you could sleep in it. When I go to the Midlands (or the South for that matter) I never feel clean.

either go into a Lush shop, or go online to www.lush.com. they do a brilliant range of natural shampoos / soaps / bath products, including specific shampoos for both hard water and soft water. i've also read independent reviews in a couple of health/beauty magazines, and those products ^ have always had good reviews. worth a try ! (they also do some fantastic things called 'bath bombs' - try them too !)

You can rinse your hair in vinegar once a week and it will strip the minerals from your hair.
