Evolution tries to explain the evidence left behind from history using science.

Religion tries to explain the evidence left behind from history using faith in doctrine, scripture, and dogma.

But in reality, since neither evolution nor religion can be proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, aren't they both just theories?

Evolution is a Theory the way the Pythagorean Theorem is a Theory, meaning it is an established factual explanation.

Religion is a theory like me thinking that continuing to wear my smelly socks will bring me luck, fortune and help me pitch a no hitter at the game next Saturday.

Yes they are both basically a religion. Evolution starts with the assumption, that there is no God. They didn't get that using science, they see no evidence so they don't accept it.

When I ask why not teach creation in schools the reply is~ we don't want our kids to be lied to. Did you know that half of the evidence used in highschool, middle school, and college are self made evidence that never existed? The other half has not enough sufficent evidence to declare it truth. When asked biologists will say well we can't take it out because we have nothing to replace it with.

I don't care if you teach creation or not, just stop calling evolution the truth, if you were smart enough to actually research it in depth you will find there are infact many flaws with the theory. And yes it is only a theory, if that is true then how do you explain this question found in a textbook.

"When did evolution stop?" Since evolution is a theory then it should read, "If you choose to accept the theory of evolution when would you say that it stopped?" And since most say that evolution never stopped, how do you suppose this question made it into the texbook?

You're right the kids are being lied to, but not by Christians it by the scientific community.

A theory has to be able to be proved ~ evolution is a mere idea, not a theory because it cannot be proved. It has also been proved wrong by the creator the the 'theory' as well, Darwin. He admitted that it was wrong and false, but they still teach it today. Why? Because they won't believe the Bible, the truth.

Religion can be proved if you have truly repented and accepted Christ as Lord, you will know it and people will see it in you. Your life will be changed drastically ~ you will worship and praise and love God and not blaspheme Him as some do on this site. You have joy and hope and fruits of the Spirit. It's a great thing to know you will have eternal life with the Father ~ you can too.

Admit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ. Repent from your life of sin and follow Christ ~ ask Him to save you. If you don't believe it, just pray to God over and over to show you, and He will come through.

Evolution is a theory and a fact.

Theism is a guess. If it were an EDUCATED guess it'd be a hypothesis. If that hypothesis were tested through experiments or observations based on predictions and not rejected it becomes a theory, if that theory were consistently verified EVERY TIME it'd be a fact.

A persons religion is what someone does, holidays, ceremonies, works out of what one believes is right.

Perfect religion before God is to visit the widows & orphans, etc... and to keep self spotless from sinful living.

So, religion isn't a theory. A theory is a possible explanation of a scientific study.

Religion isn't a theory since it lacks predictive power. Evolution has made numerous predictions that have been verified. That is what makes it a theory.

Evolution isn't a theory, it has been proven, and there is clear evidence of it in everyday life....so there is no need to answer the question.

They're not theories in the same way. Religion isn't a SCIENTIFIC theory, which is exactly what evolution is.

To you, yes, both are theories. To me, a Creator is a reality.
There is complex people, animals, and not to mention the rest of the earth. If I showed you a 747, you would want to know who made it...but the earth just bang happened???? No, that is not only a theory but a downright lie...its obvious to me that it was created by Someone greater than I.

No you are wrong.

Evolution has a theory (Theory of Natural Selection).

Religion is mythology.

Evolution is also a fact, just like gravity.
