Hey there everyone. I am 18 yrs. old, and just last year I lost my mom (to whom I was very close to) to breast cancer. I want to get a small tattoo in memory of her, but I don't want just "Mom" or anything like that, but at the same time, I don't want anything too large. Just wondering if anyone had any cool ideas? Thanks a ton!

A picture is worth a 1000 words; if you can find something she was fond of, maybe mix it with your own twist, that'd be nice. I'm sure an artist could help you with some preliminary sketches. Perhaps working a small portrait into a floral bit - if she was the gardening type, for example?

And sympathies for the loss of your mom. My father died a number of years ago, just as we began to bury the hatchet after a long time of butting heads.

Maybe get the pink ribbon with her favorite flower, or something small that reminds you of her and makes you smile. Such as a knick knack, animal, or just something from a very fond memory.
Good luck with your tattoo. I hope you come up with a tattoo to hold dear, and sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss...I would maybe think about getting something that symbolizes what she meant to YOU or something that you two shared. I think that would mean alot more to you than say a heart that says mom, etc.

A pink pin( symbolize for cancer) with letter "special mom" on it, or "#1 mom".

get something that reminds you of her. something special that you both shared. if i were getting a tattoo to represent my mom i would get a pillbox because it's something that she collects. not every memorial tattoo has to be something that other people associate with memorials. you'll enjoy it more if it is unique to your mother. good luck with whatever you decide.

you could get an awarness ribbon with her name, date of birth, and date of death, and also a few kind words to her. sorry about the loss. or, your could get somthing that symbolises her name. exp, if her name was robin, you could get a tattoo of a robin.
