deacon and father of catholic church made an exception so my child could baptise at age 7, what kind of thank you gift can i give them????

Any gift probably. A nice thank you card, or maybe a gift cirtificate for a dinner somewhere.

I don't know what kind of exception you are referring to, since a 7-year old child is long overdue for baptism, and any priest or deacon would be most willing to baptize him/her. However, a deacon can use just about anything that any man can use. Most of them are regular family men. He probably doesn't need a Bible or a rosary or anything of that nature, so perhaps something of a more secular nature might be better. A gift certificate is always good if you can't think of an actual thing to purchase.
