Ordo pretty much nailed it. However, I will add that Corpse Paint is still alive and well in the Norwegian Black Metal scene it has not died. Possible if King Diamond stopped using Make Up (I don't think his make up is labeled as "Corpse Paint") they might take into consideration to stop using it but as long as King uses make up it will NEVER die. King Diamond and his Painted Face is the primary influence over all the first musicians in Norwegian Black Metal starting all the back to Mayhem and the first vocalist "Dead" who committed suicide in 1990 or 91

No, it's a word for something that has a lot of research backing it up, but has not yet been proved completely correct, and has not been disproved. I have no clue where you would get the idea that it has anything to do with Santanic prophecies.

It would more correctly be a category, the sub-category of which would be "far-fetched."
