The bombing attack on Moammar Qaddafi was legally justified, according to the State Department’s legal adviser, as an act of self-defense under Article 51 of the U.N. Charter because of Qaddafi’s terrorist activities. The Iranian mullahs are worse, and are trying to get nuclear weapons besides.

Ah, yes you may be right but the US went and did those bombings without asking permission from the UN, then they cobbled together an excuse. Since Qaddafi was being a pain in the rear to most of the world no one objected.

However, if anyone attacks a country in the Middle East then there is going to be a problem with the members of the Security Council. The US was unable to pass UN sanctions against Iran because China and France are permanent members of the Security Council and have the right to reject the entire resolution with only one vote. They threatened to do it so the US has only tried to get sanctions from their allies.

Now the Iranian Mullahs WILL get nuclear weapons, there is no question about that it is only a matter of time. The Iranian Mullahs aren't stupid enough to use them themselves instead they will "sell" them to Hezbollah (a group founded by Iran in 1982). Hezbollah WILL use nuclear bombs against the US and Israel (in fact Iranians consider the US to be a mortal enemy). When that happens (not if) it is going to be hard to respond against them, I mean what do we do nuke Lebanon?

Iran knows that if they used the nuclear bomb themselves then they would face the UN Charter and universal world commendation. When the US responded it would be with the support of the entire world behind it, provided the US doesn't use nuclear weapons itself or any WMDs. The US has enough weapons to use conventional bombs to send Iran back to the Stone Age. Iran knows this and they know that Israel will be happy to help. So they play it cool and ignore the rest of the world whenever possible. They have this terrorist support act down so good that they don't even need to use nuclear weapons.

Of course ANY nation that used nuclear weapons, even if provoked would face universal commendation. Now if a superpower like Russia, China or the US used nuclear weapons they would be condemned. However, if Israel uses its nuclear weapons in self-defense then it would be hard to condemn them. If the UN regulatory council were able to determine that the nukes came from Iran then Israel would be all over them, with the US climbing on for support.
