converting uk appliance to australian?

hi, i have moved from uk to australia and bought with me my washing machine. I use it here with converter but wish to know if i can simply cut off uk plug and fit an autralian one instead. thanks

If, as I believe, the mains in Australia is 230/240, then yes you can. In fact it makes more sense to do so than use the "converter." (I presume you mean an adapter.)
