What would that even mean? That as a man he lived and gave us a means to avoid the longings and disappointments that come with life? What's not to believe?

I don't believe in Buddha, the way I believe in Christ. However, he had some good thoughts about living right. It doesn't address the issue of Heaven and Hell.
