People often pose questions to Atheists in particular....and all of us answer.

I know that Lokihatetypingthis always idenitifies herself as Astratu.....but most of us don't.

I am agnostic....but I frequently answer atheist questions.....

Do we all consider one another alike in a way even though we aren't?

I DON'T agree with some fundamental positions I see atheists take in here, yet I still never identify myself as being different.

Well i'm Agnostic as well and no i don't believe that we are all alike at all. Everybody is different from one another regardless of what group one belongs to. Yeah i do tend to answer alot of questions directed towards Atheists simply because this forum is pretty much black and white with no gray area in between. It's like you are either a Christian or an Atheist and nothing else exists.

I'm more of a Deist (belief that the creator is not attainable by
religion and is unknowable and not comprehend-able to humans.
but I show myself as an Atheist because very few know what
a Deist is and most of the time confuse Deist with Theist.

I assess the intelligence of the asker. A lot are too dim to know the difference.

I also gauge what I can contribute. If I can offer a cogent and relative idea that hasn't shown up yet, I'm more likely to post.

Lokihatetypingthis? Lol

I answer many of the questions Christians direct towards Atheists because I have fun answering them.

We are all questioners who dislike the pat 'because I said so' answers. The arrogant cheap certainties of bumper sticker religiosity. The willingness of mainstream religions to cozy up to popular prejudices. The hollowing out of popular religion to serve as a political vehicle for ideas that can't or won't stand on their own merits.

I identify with atheists although I disagree with a lot that many atheists on here believe about the non-existence of gods.

A fundie atheist... ha.... funny stuff.

I don't consider everyone an atheist if they aren't a theist. I know that several people who respond to "atheist" questions are actually pagan, agnostic, wiccan, etc.

I answer without specifying that I am not atheist when I get the impression that the person asking wouldn't understand the distinction.

Well if your in the US, it's easy for us minority "weirdos" to band together sometimes...

Personally, i think some the folks from the UK are great, too.

But... overall.... anyone is entitled to answer questions, whether the questioner wants them to or not... it's the nature of the forum
