Mums are naturally protective with sons more so than daughters. It's hard but you need to know where they are all the time. I tell my kids I need to know just in case of emergency and I need to know where they are. My 20 year old son still tells me where he is going and what time I can expect him home. If he is late he rings to let me know. You need to show that you trust them and give them their freedom but you still need to know where they are.

If he's younger than 18 years old you better get a grip and make sure he goes by your rules. Not His. If not you'll be sorry one day.
