Isn't it blasphemy for king James to put his name on God's holy word?

Actually- the King James version is not the only authorized version. It was for years and years. But, in 1960 a whole new batch of ancient scriptures were found and so the New International Version and the New American Standard Version were created. I've taken Greek which the New Testament is written in and if you want the most correct word for word translation from the original language- choose the New American Standard Version. Next up is the New International Version. Behind that is the KJV. There is an updated version called the New KJV- which is better. But, by no means is the KJV the best.

Today, modern translations of the Bible are "authorized" by groups of scholars who study the translation carefully looking for inaccuracies.
