you have a V-6 and will never get that V-8 sound. you can either live with the V-6 or trade in your truck and get a V-8 version. all you will be doing is wasting money on that V-6 and never get what your are going for. trust me I have a 03 dakota 4.7 V-8 and on all the fourms seen guys blow loads of money trying to get the preformance and sound of a V-8. if you want HP you need to get a supercharger. thats about the only way your going to get any serious HP. but if your up against a V-8 with a Supercharger also. you will fall flat on your face again. as you only have a 6 banger.

the V-6 is the weak link in your plan. you can pick up a R/T dakota with a 5.9 V-8 depending on year pretty cheap.

It will never sound good, like stated above, you will never sound like a V8. I would just save the money to either swap in a V-8 or just get a new truck with a V8 in it. But if you really want to do this check out socaldakota.com or krcperformance.com or southeastrt.com they can custom grind a cam for you, but you have to do other things to your engine like roller rockers, heads, new intake manifold, throttlebody, headers to name some of the major components to make it worth it. It really wouldn't be worth it to do all this to a V6, cause if you do all that work whick is gonna cost around $4000 - $5000 to do all of this and you'll only be as fast, maybe a little faster than a stock V8.
