Talapia With Lemon and Capers:

25 min 10 min prep
2 servings

14 ounces tilapia fillets, 4 medium fillets
1/8 cup canola oil
1 cup low-fat milk
flour, enough to lightly coat the fillets
salt and pepper, to taste
2-3 tablespoons butter
1/8 cup capers, Drained
1/8 cup fresh parsley, chopped, adjust to your taste
1-2 lemon

1. Peel the lemon removing the inner white membrane, cut into segments and reserve juice.
2. Place enough flour in a zip bag to coat the fillets and season the flour with salt and pepper.
3. Dip the fillets into the milk and into the flour mixture and shake to coat. Remove and shake off any excess flour and repeat with other fillet.
4. Heat enough oil to coat the bottom of a skillet and place fillets in oil. Brown the fillets on both sides turning only once until the fillets flake easily. Remove from skillet to warm serving plates.
5. Drain excess oil from pan, wipe out skillet and add in the butter. Once melted and slightly browned add in the lemon with juices, capers and parsley. Warm through and spoon over villets.
6. Serve immediately with some steamed vegetagbles and a mixed green salad. A very nice light and healthy dinner for 2.

Tilapia

2 lbs tilapia fillets
1 cup vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 lemon, juice of
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoons cayenne or red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt

4 servings Change size or US/metric
Change to: servings US Metric

45 minutes 35 mins prep
Combine all ingredients except for the tilapia.
Mix well until the salt is disolved.
Place tilapia in a glass dish and cover with marinade.
Turn to coat and set aside for 20 minutes. Preheat grill.
Pour marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil.Allow to cool.
Grill tilapia fillets of a medium high heat for about 4 to 5 minutes per side or until the fish flakes easily and has an even appearance all the way through.
Serve by pouring a small amount of the sauce over the tilapia fillets.

Talapia is so delicious and very mild. It will take any kind of coating or marinating. Personally I love it in fish taco's! BTW ~ don't over pay for it.....since the good ole US has had a barrage of Mexicans coming over, US fish mongers think they can raise the price for this fish....which is unnecessary since it hasn't been totally fished out of the ocean.

grilled herb talapia

1 pound tilapia* or other white fish fillets
4 sheets (12x18-inch each) heavy duty aluminum foil
Sea Salt Grinder
Black Peppercorn Grinder
4 tablespoons Herb Butter
Place one fish fillet in center of each sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Top each fillet with 1 tablespoon Savory Herb Butter. Bring up foil sides; double fold top and ends to tightly seal packet. Grill over medium-high heat 10 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork, turning once.

i love talapia it is my favorite fish.
this is how i cook it..
i put it in a frying pan with alot of butter. i add about 3 cloves of garlic and cook it evenly on both sides i add cracked black pepper and sea salt. when it is almost done cooking i add fresh portabella mushrooms to the pan. then serve the mushrooms on top of fish and serve with jamsime rice.
