You have come to the right place, my friend. For I have the answers to your questions.
If you are asking this question in order to determine how to value your life, then I can say that is unnecessary. For if you equate life with death, that cannot be true. As far as we know, the dead stay that way and we have no actual proof of any signs of anything afterwards.
So, we only know that we have this life, and the rest is an uncertainty. The fact that we know nothing at all about the afterlife is the simplest reason of all to know that you must completely value the life that you do have.
Imaginary or real, this is what you have right now, and for this phase that we all don't know about, just live it.

Schopenhauer said: the even run of time is a proof more than anything that we all are sunk in the same dream, moreover we are all a creature dreaming it!
Die GleichmäÃigkeit des Laufes der Zeit beweiÃt mehr, als irgend etwas, daà wir alle in denselben Traum besenkt sind, ja doch wir ein Wesen sind welches ihn träumt!

We, human beings, know nothing. That is why we need the Divine Educator, the Messenger of the One True God, to open our minds to the truth.
I cannot teach you, because you realize I am human, I am as ignorant as you. So, we both can only learn something when we bow down before a Teacher, Whom we admire for His love, purity and knowledge. Please look for him, otherwise you will get lost with the belief that you are your perfect teacher.

Yes, life is a real thing. And as far as I know, mortality rate is 100%. Once you are here, you leave one way or another. I want to be with God, so I hold onto His promises.

Life is just another state of existence as is non-life. Death is just the transition phase.

I've come to the conclusion that any reality, even if it does not truly exist in the grand scheme of things, must be real. If you have a reality, then it's your reality, and therefore must at least exist to you.
