A recipe card that says "From the Kitchen Of........"

Insert your married name....Mr. and Mrs. ________whatever your last name is and the date.

Then have a favorite recipe printed on it. You can even do a little 'set' of three cards, with a hole punched in the top left and a ribbon bow tying them together. One recipe could be for a salad, one for an entree and one for a dessert. Very inexpensive.

I would recommend staying away from the nuts or chocolates. Many people are allergic to different types of nuts and some either don't like chocolate or cannot have it depending on their religion or beliefs.

I was thinking about the same thing not long ago, I didn't want to do the almonds in the mesh bag or what not. I wanted something edible though, because I know other things, like lil shot glasses, and other trinket sort things get thrown out. Why spend money on that too!? So I was searching online, and found that you can order chocolate bars with your info printed on it. I thought it was a good idea, but I am going to take it one step furthur and make my own. There is a hershey factory near by, so I can go buy a ton of chocolate bars, and then design my own wrapper with our photo on it, names, date, poem maybe. I'm just going to print them out on my own printer. :D I think they will go over really well. If I were really ambitious, I could type each persons name individually on them, thanking them for coming. People would love to see that I think!!!! Their name personally printed on it! I'm getting myself more excited about it, lol.

Good luck :)

I think it's a good idea. You may need an attendant at the table though to make sure that the first few people take lots and leave nothing for the last few people. Or an alternative would be to box up each different ones and leave them in the middle of the tables at the reception with a note thanking the guests for sharing your special day and please choose a box to take home (that way there are couple of choices one each table).

we are giving little bags of almonds, to everyone we are putting them next to our guest book, and we are also having rose petal soaps and scented candles too and rose wine miniatures, we are arranging these as our centerpieces, but the pieces will have 1 item per guest at that table. we are putting them on little round mirrors. it is usually the women that take them to keep, so we are putting the wine for the men mostly.
i have been to a few weddings lately and i think the cute set little thing i was given was a little photo holder, it is silver, in the shape of a woman but it has no face, the bride and groom found photos of each of their guests and put the faces in them all. that was really lovely, and everyone kept their gift.
the best things to give are something either personal, edible or something that can be used, another wedding i went too they had little match books and seed pots of herbs like lavender, they were really nice, we just emptied the lavender in the front garden and it has grown, much to our surprise, so when we see it in bloom we will remember the wedding.

i hope this helps a little with your dilemma.

The best favors are either edible or reusable.

No one wants a little dust collector.

Fifty cent pieces nicely wrapped
Chocolate Bars with personalized labels

Candy bar wrappers that are personalized (with pictures for example) are a nice idea. You can find them at this site...http://www.wrapperhersheys.com
Another fun favor would be to give each guest a lottery ticket in a special envelope.

I was struggling with this myself...and we decided to make a donation to charity instead of giving out favours. I never know what to do with those favours once I get them home. I suffer from MS so we've decided to give the money we would spend on favours to them.
I'll put a card on all the tables saying we've made the donation. Hope this helps!

My husband is into origami. He hand made 70 hexagonal origami boxes out of all different kinds of origami paper, and we filled them with personalized M&M candies. Everyone thought it was a cute idea. We even had a hexagonal cake, so the shapes matched!

We made a CD of our favorite love songs. We printed labels with our picture on them, and everyone loved them. We also had candy bars with picture labels.
