Mostly biological. The drive to survive. In other words we are just kindof wired that way. The idea of not being is simply not conceiveable to most people. So most people like to believe in some form of life after death, a here-after, or re-incarnation. However, since no-one has ever proven that a here-after exists, or assuming it does, what form it takes, It is the one great unknown. It is that which cannot be known, We do know that it is a one-way trip, and not knowing what if anything is on the "other" side without being able to turn around if we don't like i, scares th bejeezers out of us.

People are always afraid of those things that they do not fully understand or comprehend. Death is mysterious and frightening because of religion. If a person wasn't concerned about such things as life after death, heaven, hell, and numerous other ideas perpetuated by organized religions to constantly make us feel guilty about our pursuit of pleasure, then no one would worry about death at all. Death would simply be viewed as the end of life, nothing more and nothing less. All living things die.

I'm not afraid of dying - I just don't want it to happen before I'm at a place in my life where I feel like I've done what I was put here to do. For me, the only fear I have is that I will never be who I feel I need to be and that I will die having not reached my potential...I would have to accept the fact that I wasted the gift of life while I had it....
And that would suck!

Well, I personally like seeing my friends and family everyday. Death is so uncertain (like what happens afterwards) I am scared of death. Thats for sure. Probably just because it can happen at any moment at any time, and you aren't ready to go.

Death is something that we all have to face. I believe death is more comforable than living in all this turnoil and suffering. I'm not looking forward to it, but when my time comes, I will be ready for it.

Because it's the unknown.. No one can explain to you what it's like to die, because.. Everyone that could is dead... Lol However, as long as you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you shouldn't be afraid..
