How about:
coconut flakes
marachino cherries
dates
nuts (any kind)
use Cocoa Pebbles, instead
any leftover Valentine candy

OR~~ I found some variations that aren't sweet at all:
Crispy Cheese Buttons - Cooks.com
2 sticks butter
2 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
2 c. flour
2 c. Rice Crispies
Mix butter and cheese. Add flour and mix well. Stir in Rice Crispies. Roll in diced walnuts. Roll into balls. Mash down with a fork. Top with nuts. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Variation: add 1/4 cup sesame seeds to mixture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pecan Cheese Crispies
2 c. (8 oz.) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. hot sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. self-rising flour
2 c. crispy rice cereal
Pecan halves
Combine cheese and butter in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until blended. Add hot sauce and mustard; gradually add flours, mixing until blended. Stir in cereal.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheets and flatten with a fork, making a crisscross design. Press a pecan half in the center of each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes; cool.
Peanut butter is very good (add it to the marshmallow and mix it before you add the rice crispies)
