It depends on the weather where you are at. Ants follow the secretred pherimones of certain lead ants. They can be hoarding together for the purpose of generating heat to keep themselves warm. However, they are sensitive to change in heat. If it warms up too quickly for them before their bodies have a chance to adjust it kills them. So, it can depend on what the temperture is in that room and what goes on in there.

They are using your room as a trash can to dump their dead ants, among other things.
My friend had the same problem.

Perhaps they think of you as some kind of ant goddess and they are making sacrafices to you...
Have you tried commanding them to do stuff for you?

Perhaps there is something in that room that kills them. Perhaps a toxin. I would be careful leaving my pets in there if I were you.
