A few friends and I want to go to Canada for a couple of days for spring break. Ideally, we were going to drive over..however, we have since found out that the car you are driving needs to be registered in your own name. We are 19 and our cars are not in our name, but our parents. We'd be leaving from Pennsylvania and going to Ontario.

Any ideas or help?

Thanks!

Just take a bus. That's the safest bet. And, don't forget with new border laws you may need a passport to go to Canada

I believe your parents can write an authorization of use, as long as the car is insured for Canada and you have a Canadian insurance certificate from the car's insurance company. Canada customs can then give a 3 day waiver. At least that is how things used to be. But why are you going to Ontario when Montréal is so much wilder and cooler?

Try to find a bus maybe that goes from your town to where you want to go.
