thanks for all your answers i know it was a very stupid thing to do and will not happen again trust me!! What if i say someone took it for a test ride and the person told me they were insured?? Dont they need solid evidence to prove it was me on the bike to convict me of anything?? oh, they were following me for about 200 yards before trying to pull me.

First they have to prove you were the rider, the camera may not have conclusive proof, so your opener should be that several people used your bike that day and you don't know all the names or addresses. Don't admit you were the rider until they prove it!

Ok... if you're in the UK, you probably didn't get away as such. I would imagine that they were told to end the chase because you were on a bike. Before being ordered to end the chase, they would've checked your registration. If it wasn't reported stolen, they've got a pretty good idea of who you are, so they'll be round at some point. They will also make checks to see who was insured to ride the bike at the time. If it was only you, then either it was you on the bike, or you allowed someone to knowingly ride your bike without insurance. If you refuse to tell the Police who was riding your bike at the time, you commit and offence. Anyway, you admit to being the rider, so you could be done for failing to stop for a Police officer, speeding, and careless and inconsiderate driving/riding.

Ignore the other answers about pretending you didn't know it was a Police car - how many boy-racers have blue lights AND sirens - it won't wash in court. Try it if you want, but they won't believe you and give you a harsher sentance for lying. If you get the knock on the door, just admit it - they're likely to be more lenient on you.

Not being drunk is no defence, if you were over the limit (which if you'd had 2 pints of Stella like you say you probably were), it inhibits your driving/capability - you're more likely to kill yourself or someone else, just with a few swigs, let alone 2 pints. Don't believe me? Would you have riden like a crazy loon to get away from the Police had you not had a drink???

If it was an unmarked car how do you know it was a police car ?
If the driver was a police officer in uniform then you have committed an offence in failing to stop for him. If you have told us everything then that is the only offence.
The police can easily trace the Registered Keeper of your vehicle from the national computer. When asked, the Registered Keeper is obliged by law to tell them who was driving the vehicle at the time.
They will then be able to interview you and examine your driving documents and possibly discover why you did not stop for them.
You need a good Solicitor. You can run but you can not hide !

I have never read such rubbish in my life as most of these answers. You are not required to stop for a completely unmarked car unless it pulled alongside and an officer in uniform who is the only one allowelled to stop you indicated you should stop.If this didnt happen you have no problem and if it was unmarked unless it had blue lights and siren as some cars do even unmarked. The police attitude would be you shouldnt stop unless you are sure who is stopping you for obvious reasons.I think there must be something you havent said for instance how did you know it was police?.

The whole chat of drink driving etc etc...forget that. They didn't put the requirement to you for a sample of breath, so that is a non starter.
Your speed wasn't THAT excessive for them to be concerned with. You never mentioned how long they followed you for or what speeds you were doing while 'bombing off'....so that could be a stickler for you, especially if the car was fitted with a provida system measuring your speed and recording the whole incident.
If the bike is registered to you, the rear plate is legible and you were driving too fast, there will be someone calling round to see you. You may get prosecuted for failing to stop for police and excess speed, could throw in dangerous driving or driving without due care and attention too, depending on the manner or your driving and road conditions.

Or you could take your chances and say you don't know who was on it, try Obstruction under the Road Traffic Order, see if the Magistrate is in a good mood!

You won't stop the next time either as you will be afraid of being prosecuted for driving while disqualified!

..............was that a knock on the door????

Several things they can throw at you.
Firstly if they suspected you of Drink Driving they could do you for Failure to Provide a Sample of Breath. But as you didn't in effect refuse to, as you didn't stop they would find that hard.

Failure to Stop.
This is a more common one, but as it was an unmarked car you can use the following as an excuse not to stop, "You believed in your opinion it was not an official marked police car and therefore you did not not stop as you felt threatened". This excuse has been used in a court before and got them acquitted.
If the police really want to stop you then they will use a marked Police car or make you aware that they are Police Officers (e.g. overtake you and beckon you to the side of the road).

Driving without due care and Attention.
As you were speeding this is more then likely what they will do you for.

The police cannot now do you for Drink Driving as any decent lawyer would get you off on a technicality, "wheres the proof m'lord, he wasnt over the limit". "The officers were not in a marked card m'lord". "My Client thought they were Boy Racers with blue lights on their windscreen wipers"

Simple dude, if you are old enough to hold a licence, then you should know the law, if the unmarked police car flashed and put on the sirens for you to pull over! then you should have done so. By out running the police has got you in a whole lot of trouble and they will charge you. Think about it next time if you still have your licence.

Your number plate is going to be circulated to all local Police Officers and whenever they see you out on your moped again they will give you a tug and ask you some uncomfortable questions. Thankfully you were only on two wheels and not four so chances are if you had an accident your only likely to injure or kill your stupid self and not some poor innocent. Driving Whilst Under the Influence is a stupid, senseless and serious crime - you should not be making light of it and gloating on the internet about it. Shame on you.

You might be lucky and you could hope that they weren't really interested in catching you and so didn't do any paperwork on it. I think you would have heard by now if they really wanted you. If they do decide they want to talk to you you had better have your story ready. How do you know it was a police car? Maybe you were frightened it was some nutcase!
