In the U.S. each state independantly controls who is allowed, or licensed, to drive. Federal law does require that each state respect driver's licences issued by other states but not other countries. The best way to find an answer would be to contact the DMV for the state you plan to drive in and see if they'll accept an international driver's license.

technically you can drive for 30 days up to 6 months but if the police officer wants to give you a ticket for no license he or she can do it.

The international license and the license both from that other country will be OK. Just don't get the fake international license from here... they don't work

Yes,,its ok to drive in the united states with a foreign drivers license,,but only for short stays , the same is true when you visit other countries.
