Look for something called "School report cards". This is a federal requirement for all public schools. Each school's website should have it published.
There, you can see how each school compares to the district and to the state averages.

go onto te web site of your local eduscation authority and you can get league tables also i find the best thing is talk to other parents about the school their kids go to there is nothing like first hand info. A school can change in a term though especially if they get a new head teacher and or staff

Where I am, there are school districts and the kids are assigned to a certain school based on location. There is no other choice except the magnet schools that do a lottery for out of district kids.

use a website called upmystreet.co.uk, put in your postcode and look at primary schools...will give you list of all schools and their results! Word of warning tho dont assume the school closest to you is in your catchment area!!! Good Luck

ask the mothers of the schools u wont your child to go to there the best ones to ask as they will give u a true answer on what the school is really like
