if you've run out of things to talk about after only 9 months, then you must either not be very compatible or you are not interested in things the other is interested in. when you aren't compatible, continuing to date just prolongs the agony of the eventual break up. might be a good idea to make a clean break of things b/4 you invest more time in each other. on the other hand, if you aren't interested in the things she is interested in and wants to talk about or she isn't interested in the things you are interested in and want to talk about, then one or both of you may be too self-involved to sustain a relationship. again, it might be time to make a clean break and get the inevitable over with. finally, if you want to continue to give the relationship a chance, maybe the first topic of discussion should be exactly what you're questioning here. maybe you should ask your girlfriend "what do you think is the reason we are running out of things to talk about?" if that doesn't spark a meaningful dialogue, your relationship is definitely in trouble.

Do new things that you can discuss. Take Salsa Lessons, Go Kayaking, join a hiking club.
Take evening photography or art classes..... these will be fun activites and give you things to chat about. Or even watch videos and do your own film critics.
Fun thing to try is to rent last 10 "best pictures". Watch them all and decide which were really worthy.
Create STUFF to to talk about...
Don't fall into a rut so soon!
Good luck.

I have been married for 23 1/2 years and I still have things to talk about with my husband...if you have run out of things to say then you might want to reconsider your relationship...I know that sounds harsh but if you aren't talking about anything now what will you be doing in a year or two???? Good luck

You two can't be to involved in each others lives, because that alone is plenty to talk about. Your jobs, family, daily feelings, news, TV programs- gee-I can go on and on. When you go out together with other people, or even alone, things you see, opinions-do I need to say more? Every day doesn't have to be a huge event happening, even the small stuff count!

Do stuff together, like take your pet for a walk or hike or go to the gym, stuff like that. You'll find out that are lots of things to talk about when you're active and together.
