Sorry about the broadness of this question. If you get told that a lump (size of a pea) in your neck contains cancerous cells, what exactly does this mean? Whats the difference between this and cancer? The person in question is mid 20s... will this reduce risk? It is getting removed soon but how is it known if its spread? Im worried about it but should i be as worried as i am?

The lump has cancerous cell means it is cancer only. The doctors would definetly check the whole body and the bones to find out if it has spread to any other place and if not then they would simply remove the lump and since he is only 20 most likely he may be advised adjuvant chemo ( supportive chemo) so that he would not get cancer in the future. If the cancer has already spread to other places then also they give chemo but the chances of the cancer returning would be higher. Be bold I am sorry for the news but you have to face the reality and try to help your friend at this stage. All the best.

To see if something has spread they will test lymphnodes and your blood.

If they see cancerous cells then they will now if it has spread.

It is hard to say what the lump is...They should have told you if you have cancer of something...

It might reduce the risk depending on what type of cancer or lump it is.

If you would have given more information about the lump then I could tell you a little more about it...

You should have any lump or bump that shows up on your dog checked out by a veterinarian. It could be a cyst or a fatty deposit, but in some cases it can be cancerous. I would worry too much, but you'd feel a good better piece of mind if you took him to the vet. Good Luck.

You're boned. Doc8 is good at what he does.

Five hundred years ago, people said the world was flat. Today, people say that if the FDA and AMA haven't blessed something, it can't be real good. Well, here's something I know to be real AND good. It's a little different take on cancer treatment--

In 1990, I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I've survived. My doctors were great people, but they were limited to surgery, chemo and radiation by profitable AMA treatment policy. During the year in treatment, I started learning about alternative medicine. I'm a retired engineer, and this is what I've pieced together--our IMMUNE SYSTEMS become weakened by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and reduced oxygen. Once that happens, our body becomes vulnerable to common STRESSORS. Stressors can be environmental, like viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, electromagnetic waves or pollution. They can be internal things like emotional or job stress, or poisonous people in our lives. Aging is also a contributing factor. So this means:

WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM + STRESSORS = DISEASE (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)

Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or a high level of stressors, to weaken the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that are currently being used in Europe and around the world, and there are some great books on the subject. I know because I've read about 50 of them from cover to cover. Here's a list of the best ones. Some are out of print and getting hard to find--

"The Cure for All Cancers", ISBN 0963632825
"The Cure for All Advanced Cancers", ISBN 1890035165
"A Cancer Therapy", ISBN 0882681052
"Oxygen Therapies", ISBN 0962052701
"Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle", ISBN 1885236077
"The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium", ISBN 0533071410
"Killing Cancer", ISBN 0705000966
"Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About", ISBN 0975599518

I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) AFTER they went on programs of herbs and nutrition to restart their immune systems.

You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy. This is not a joke, and I'm not selling anything--just trying to help.
I am using the things I learned in those books right now to fight off a second infestation of cancer. I've been at it for over a year now, and think I'm going to make it. Use what works for you, and pass on your success. Best of luck.

If the lump has cancerous cells, it is because cancer is present. In my case, it was Lymphoma. I had a lymph node at the base of my neck that was swollen, and when they cut into it, it had cancerous cells.

Who has told this ?

If you get told that lump (Size of a pea) in your neck contains cancerous cells, means Exactly you have Cancer. Cancerous cells and Cancer are one and the same.

Please have it checked by an Oncologist immediately for evaluation and he will confirm it. Just getting removed the lump will not do and and the lump has to be send for biopsy test and if Cancer is confirmed the usual treatment of Chemotherapy and radiation have to be given to kill all cancerous cells as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA . Please do not neglect. -

Matt-

Have you been to a doctor? What does he/she say?
Wait for the report to come back from the pathologist. The doctor will know what to do from there. Since you are still worried, you may want to call the Drs. office and ask to speak to the Dr or a nurse knowledgeable in the subject. If they can't help you, ask them to give you a referral to a skin cancer specialist (or a phone number).

Definitely be concerned. But don't be scared.
There are two types of cancerous cells, squamous and I can't remember the second. Then, once the cancer cell is active (mutate), there's 4 stages of cancer.
A cancer cell can be found in the system, but if it's dormant, it can be fought. If the cancer cell is active and mutating or spread, then you have full blown cancer. Then, it's how bad. That's where the 4 stages come in (4 being the worse).
Here's the thing if the cancer cell is localized and hasn't spread, then there's a great chance to beat it. But if it's spread, you know that the cancer cell is mutating and all you can do is limit it.
With today's technology, people are beating cancer left and right. Trust your doctors. Keep a calm head.
